Learn to ski off piste more safely

We are able to provide snow safety skills training in the use of avalanche transceivers and companion rescue techniques. These focused and practical safety training sessions are suitable for both off piste novices or for skiers with previous off piste skiing experience.

In the snow safety session you will also learn the important techniques and tactics for skiing and travelling in the backcountry more safely. We will cover elements such as choice of line, terrain selection and the best way to ski different types of snow.

As with all of our private lessons and guiding the day or morning will be fully tailored to your or your group's particular requirements so you could combine the snow safety training with some technical off piste ski instruction too.

Our pricing is straightforward

We prefer to keep things simple by charging a flat rate for our private tuition and guiding services. Therefore you will not be charged a supplement based on the number of people in your private lesson or guided group.

For snow safety training sessions we generally recommend having no more than six skiers in your private group. Please note that we do not provide avalanche safety equipment for these sessions and it is not included in our pricing. If you do not have have your own transceiver, probe and shovel we can recommend places where you can hire the equipment from in resort.

Other important details

Your personal safety is our main priority. From a safety perspective please note that we will only ski off piste during private lessons or guided days if the snow and weather conditions permit.

For all dedicated off piste ski lessons and guiding the use of full avalanche safety equipment is mandatory. We can advise on where you can hire a pack (backpack or airbag/transceiver/shovel/probe) in resort if you do not have your own.

Helmets are compulsory for all children and teenagers aged up to 18 years in our private lessons or when skiing with the guide.

You will benefit from priority access to the ski lifts meaning that you get more time on the slopes to ski. We are also able to provide video analysis and feedback for private lessons on request.

We always try to be as flexible as possible but due to demand in the busiest school holiday weeks we are unable to split the week between different client bookings.

For the main February half term week we require a minimum booking for six full days of private tuition or guiding. And for the New Year and main Easter holiday week we require a minimum booking of five (4 hour) mornings for private ski lessons or guiding.

Should you have any questions about the specific dates for our minimum booking requirements then please do not hesitate to get in touch. In addition, if you are interested in organising a private instructor or guide for the duration of your holiday it would helpful to contact us with as much notice as possible to avoid potential disappointment.
